A great way to attack a defense in a BLOB is to get the ball to the backside of the defense. The ball reversal causes the defense to shift immediately after the in-bounds pass. So many BLOB plays are designed to get something on the ballside that attacking the backside of the defense can create a lot of easy shots.
Another way to attack a defense in a BLOB is to use a secondary action. A screen the screener action is possibly the most common way offenses attack a defense using a secondary action. In this play, the offense is using a zoom action to attack. A zoom action is a dribble handoff(DHO) immediately after a down screen. The down screen frees up the player to get a DHO without having the defender right next to them. This is a great action to use in any situation and adding it into a BLOB makes it hard for the defense to defend.

The BLOB starts in a standard box formation. The post players are on the blocks and the guards are on the elbows. The backside elbow guard will be getting the ball at the end so this should be the player the offense wants to have the ball in their hands at the end of the play.
The play starts with the big(4) setting a screen for the point(1) to get the inbounds pass. The center(5) and guard(2) cross to put the guard(2) in the corner and the center(5) on the wing. This can also be a screen by the center(5) to get the guard(2) to the corner but I have them just interchanging to get to their spots.

After the in-bounds pass to the point(1), the big(4) is stepping out after the screen to get the second pass. The 2nd pass is the start to get the ball to the backside of the play to get into the zoom action.

As the big(4) gets the ball, they are going to start dribbling to the backside of the play. As the big(4) starts to dribble, the center(5) is setting a down screen for the guard(2).
This is the zoom action. The guard(2) is getting a down screen set by the center(5). As the guard(2) comes off of the down screen, they are continuing to run around the big(4) for a dribble hand off(DHO).
The down screen is going to get the guard(2) free of their defender making the DHO easier to complete.

This is the Zoom action. The center(5) sets the screen for the guard(2). The guard(2) continues around to get the DHO from the big(4). As the guard(2) gets the DHO, they are able to turn the corner and attack the lane without having their defender in a good guarding position due to the down screen.
As the guard(2) gets the DHO and starts down the lane, the point(1) is still in the corner waiting for a kick out 3-point shot should their defender comes into the lane to help on the guard(2)’s drive.
This is a great play because it gets the ball to the backside with the defense needing to shift to the backside only to reverse back and attack the original ballside with the Zoom action and possible kick out 3-pointer for the point(1). This play gets every player involved in the execution of the play making it hard for the defense to defend. The ball moves from the ballside to the backside and back to the ballside. This is a great play to add to your playbook especially with a good driving guard(2).
